Markee’s wire birds are installed in an organic realistic flock formation circling the room. The exhibition is experimentation with the projection of light creating dramatic shadows. Markee’s work is highly influenced by nature and by the beauty she recognizes in organic forms. From her home studio in Seattle, Markee carefully handcrafts each piece in her collection. Her background in fine arts is evident in each one-of-a-kind piece she creates. Form is important in her work, and this shows in her finished pieces which have a feel that is at once rustic and modern.

I saw a wonderful art piece on bats at the Hayward Gallery by Jeremy Deller which reminds me of this. Well worth having a search for if you are interested.
Thanks for the suggestion!
